Proposed cross town cycle route, if approved, will bring investment and improvement for us here in Harrowgate Hill.
According to the plans I have seen, the cross town route ends at the top of Bensham Road, and this is where the next phase of change is planed. For starters; the bus stop, currently opposite the Premier shop, is to be relocated down North Road - alongside the new housing development on the former shell garage, including improvements to the footpath to The Leas; Dropped kerbs at the end of Bensham Road, along with cycle markings, and improvements to the footpath all the way to Salters Lane North, over the road and around to Mayfair Road.
There’ll be some changes to the existing island at the top of Salters Lane North, to allow mixed cycle and pedestrian use, and to the island near the Premier shop too.
Consultations will take place where you will have an opportunity to give your thoughts on the proposal in early December.
