Former Shell Garage/ Tesco site up For Sale

Following numerous requests via email and telephone calls to the Corporate Affairs Manager at Tesco Property Communications, requesting that they keep to their word and put the former shell garage and now derelict site up for sale, I’m really please to report that on Thursday 5th June I received formal notification that the site is going to be marketed.

It’s a huge step in the right direction as I have read and heard that Tesco accumulate thousands of acres of land in and around towns and cities throughout the United Kingdom and that they tend to sit on that land for very long periods of time, but in this time of economic downturn and credit crunch, it will be interesting to see just who might be interested in purchasing this site for development.

As posted on the Harrowgate Hill forum on 15/01/2008; http://tinyurl.com/5mmswn (you must login to view) a leading independent practice of Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants, Sanderson Weatherall is to market the site and they have already fixed two ‘For Sale’ boards to the building.

I’m told that the guide price will be made available on Tuesday but offers are invited for the freehold and should be submitted to Sanderson Weatherall, 25 Wellington Street, Leeds, LS1 4WG.

As soon as I receive any further updates with regards to the guide price and any online details I’ll update the news item on the website.
